Victoria House

The Victoria House was an investor-driven real estate development project that was conceived, designed, entitled and construction managed by SMA (now SSA and Electric Bowery), from initial site acquisition through to final sale of the property, spanning a 10 month period, start to finish.

Located in Venice Beach, the Victoria House was extensively renovated in order to create a functional family home with an open living space, built within the original footprint. The challenges afforded by the original 1960’s structure with its piecemeal renovations and limited outdoor space led the design team to reconsider the overall layout of the house.  A new second story master suite and expansive private roof terrace were added over the center of the house, with added height and skylights for the spaces beneath.

With no additional square footage, the re-imagination of the house resulted in a bright and airy 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath family home with modern-day luxuries and efficient use of exterior spaces. Beyond the greatly improved layout, creative use of finishes and interior architectural elements by the design team set this family home apart from others on the market, in escrow within two weeks of listing.
